According the the KWF '1 out of 2 people in the Netherlands receive the diagnosis of Cancer, money is needed to make sure there is good health care and research to help these people.' I think everyone knows someone who received the diagnosis of Cancer. For me these people include my mother in law, uncles, aunts and my grandmother. Thinking of these people made me want to do something for them. Therefore, I decided I would run the Rotterdam Marathon to raise money for the KWF. World Ovarian Cancer Day, recognized worldwide annually on May 8th, is a global campaign that highlights the importance of public knowledge surrounding ovarian cancer. The Global Cancer Observatory projects that ovarian cancer cases will rise over 55% by 2050, with an additional sharp increase in deaths from ovarian cancer, marking the disease as a global concern. The following nonprofit organizations are committed to the fight again ovarian cancer, utilizing education, cutting-edge research, medical innovation, and support for survivors and caregivers to collectively work towards a common goal of finding a cure.
